Course Description

Ensuring that a client enters and exits the appropriate treatment program are only two responsibilities of an addiction and other helping professional. Addiction Counselors must also guide the client through the treatment process and actively participate in the client's recovery. Addiction counselors have an enormous effect of the treatment process. The largest contributing factor is the counseling relationship. In this course we will review Addiction Counselor qualities and skills, the counselor / client relationship and disclosure, and transference and counter-transference. (NAADAC, 2017, pp. 84-91).

Course Modality. This is an independent home-study course. Students will take the course according to their own timeline.
