“The report Medication Assisted Treatment in Drug Courts is designed to help drug court practitioners understand medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid addiction and to provide strategies for incorporating MAT into their practice. The report’s information about different MAT models can serve as a resource for courts that currently permit MAT as well as those considering it. Though based on the experience of courts in New York State, the report’s recommendations are not state specific and can be applied to courts around the country. This report answers these and related questions while giving courts the tools to comply with recent mandates and public health imperatives so that they can improve participant outcomes by including MAT—when prescribed by a physician—as a standard treatment option for participants with opioid addictions.” (Center for Court Innovation, 2015).

Course Modality: This is an independent home-study course. Students will take the course according to their own timeline.
